What I consider a three dimensional painting. I started to explore the sculptural qualities of paper pulp, by making a giant grapefruit peel. Paper pulp, paint, potato sack, and cardboard.
First large scale painting done my freshman year at RISD. Acrylic and string on canvas. Approximately 4 ft. x 5 ft.

The left painting is part of a series on stretched paper, beginning my fascination with text. This fascination continues into later projects such as my artist book and wallpaper/ soft sculptures. The right painting is a quick self portrait staring into a mirror, acrylic and salt on canvas.
